It’s as if an iPhone device is not luxury enough, a mobile phone case maker said it has created an 18-carat gold case for iPhone adorned with 42 diamonds. The entire case cost $20,000 or several times more expensive than the iPhone itself.
Sure, if you have that enought money to spare and you are not scared of phone snatchers lurking in most cities around the world, especially in Asia, grab your diamond-studded iPhone case now at case-mate.com.
The Case-mate Diamond Case is handcrafted with 42 diamonds (3.5 carats) set in 18K gold, embedded in a rare gold carbon fiber leather case. With VVS1 clarity and H color, these diamonds are superior in quality. Complete with an 18K gold emblem, the Case-mate Diamond Case is truly a one of a kind.
But that’s not all. The Diamond Case is crafted of luxurious Carbon Fiber leather, previously available only in high end aftermarket cars (Techart Porsche) and very high end cell phones (Vertu). Case-mate worked closely with its leather craftsmen to develop this rare gold leather for this very special iPhone case.
Common, sell your house and car and buy an iPhone diamond-studded case. As for me, i’ll have to be contented with a China-made plastic case. ![]()

It was only a matter of time for those iphone hackers to find their way into the iPhone’s 1.1.3 firmware. For those who want to take the risk and install the latest jailbreak, please don’t forget to back up all your files because this upgrade is doubly risky.
The latest jailbreak comes as an upgrade. This means you need to have a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone already, before you can begin.
As i’ve been saying over and over again, let’s leave the iPhone as it is. Upgrading with third-party software is very risky and for sure Apple will not own responsibility should anything happen to your phone while you install the latest jailbreak.

When I was invited to talk about mobile phone virus a few months back, the first tip that I gave out against phone viruses is to always say ‘no’ when your phone asks to install a program you are not familiar with.
With mobile phones functioning more like computers (accessible by hackers), it’s no surprise that hackers and virus writers have the popular iPhone in their sights. Ari Hypponen, chief technical director of Helsinki-based computer security firm F-Secure, told me that the iPhone, and other smart phones that have Bluetooth, Microsoft and Symbian software, are the most likely targets of high tech viruses.
The easiest and cheapest way to stop viruses from spreading inside your iPhone is to take some simple precautions: Read the rest of this entry »

A lot of companies are really riding on the popularity of iPhone. And since this mobile unit from Apple is still unavailable in Asia, iPhone clones in this part of the world have sprouted like mushrooms, especially in China.
Asians eager to get their hands on the iPhone have resorted to buying iPhones look-alike even if they know the quality and features of the clones are far below the original Apple iPhone. And since these clones also come with prices hitting rock bottom, they have sold like hotcakes in the Asia Pacific region.
And what do Chinese manufacturers call their iPhone clones? What else but ChinaiPhone (as if these are iPhone manufactured in China, how apt). The clone looks like iPhone minus several functionalities. If you are an Asian waiting for the arrival of the iPhone, I suggest you save your money for now rather than buy this fake. It’s a useless expense I should say. Read the rest of this entry »

AT&T, the exclusive carrier of Apple’s iPhones in the US, revealed they have registered around 2 million iPhone users last year and expects that the figure will increase this year.
Although iPhone hackers were quick to map out codes to unlock the iPhone in the US, AT&T officials said this did not affect sales for the year 2007. The carrier also said they are expecting huge sales this year with the introduction of iPhone in Asia.
Yes, iPhone will only be introduced in Asia this year but I have seen a couple iPhones already here, unlocked and usable. There are also iPhone clones from China that have become a hit in the Philippines although these clones don’t have the exact specs as that of iPhone.
If there’s one luxury that I would like to have this first quarter of the year, that would be the iPhone (well, it’s really a battle between the iPhone and a new Mac notebook). Any offer?
