Perhaps after learning that more iPhone users are now getting bored with their gadgets or maybe Apple insiders, who are also iPhone users, see the need for a much bigger memory for the much talked-about mobile phone, Apple has upgraded the iPhone.

The revolutionary iPhone now comes in a new 16GB model for $499, joining the 8GB model for $399. iPod touch now also comes in a 32GB model for $499, joining the 16GB model for $399 and the 8GB model for $299.      Read the rest of this entry »

Crunchgear.com features iPhone-Codes.com advice

Posted by: iphone lover In: iPhone News

Crunchgear.com, another baby of techcrunch.com, features the advice of iPhone-Codes.com against unlocking the iPhone on its post today with title “iPhone-Codes says don’t unlock your iPhone, we say pshaw“.

Though crunchgear.com disapproves of our advice, we still remain on our stand against unlocking the iPhone.

     What do you think?

Unlocking the iPhone is getting popular in the undergrounds and AT&T is lossing millions dollars because of this activity. What with Jailbreak and Metasploit, people can now easily unlock their iPhones or tinker with their units.

But there are a lot of reasons why you should not unlock your iPhone. Aside from the risk of getting virus or other malicious codes from third party applications, you disqualify your phone from the official support page of Apple.

A lot of those how have unlocked their iPhones have complained of several malfunctions, including unresponsive buttons, sudden screen pause, changing colors of the screen, etc. And when you post questions about these problems at Apple’s Support Forum, you will not get any answer. :)

So if you are now thinking of unlocking your iPhone using Jailbreak of Metasploit, think again. My advice would be to leave the iPhone as it is and wait for the official unlocking of the iPhone by Apple.

iCloseBy.com has launched a new application for iPhones, iPod touches and PCs with the release of iFob, which the company claimes to be “real-space social networking software”. iFob uses the Wi-Fi of iPhones, iPods and PCs and turns these devices into “homing beacons”, broadcasting, or “just listening”, for other iFobbers.

iFob finds other people who are in the exact same location, at the exact same time, as each other. The company says that it’s “designed to become an icebreaker to real conversations”. In any public hotspot, iFob lights up and shows when anyone else with iFob walks in. Then users can chat with each other.        Read the rest of this entry »
