are you serious?! i think that's like the clearest way to post it.

and it's true. almost all shops that sell cellphones here in the Philippines are unofficially selling unlocked iPhones at 25,000 Pesos (est $680).

The problem is, it's just too damn expensive considering it doesn't come with a warranty.

Guess what you iphone geniuses at apple will do....the same thing....so pick up those skirts, grab ur bal** and enjoy the world of third party apps!
FYI, installer is mostly run by STE , they test and run all the apps before they get released into the public, and believe me kids, 99% of all iphone employees have either jailbroken or unlocked phones...why? because they are better and u get ur $400 worth!
if ur interested in hacking or jailbreaking ur device visit me for freeeee guides!

I'd love to be able to unlock legally - but it is not really an option and I doubt Apple will offer that anytime soon. I am sure a lot of people outside the countries covered by iPhone would be happy to pay an unlock fee and keep the iPhone upgradeable from Apple without the fear of the phone breaking - but also not an option.

Here here. As someone that does tech support all day long, the last thing I wanted to do was jump into the iPhone hacking world. A) It's a phone. I'd like to receive calls no matter what. Who knows what could happen by installing apps, etc. B) Security is a big concern for me too. Who's to say that these cool apps people are installing aren't secretly capturing keyboard input and uploading it to some nefarious site? C) I'm lazy. Who has the time to futz around with this stuff anyway? There's a lot of other things I'd rather do w/ my spare time than doing tech support for myself. If you're into it...kudos to you. Just be careful w/ your data and your credentials.
