Just as Apple is counting on taking a 30 percent share of every iPhone software program sold and planning to take control on software programs that will be installed on the iPhone, here comes a challenger - the Pwnage.

Developed by the iPhone Dev Team,  a group of independent software developers, Pwnage lets iPhones download and run other software programs that have not been approved and distributed officially by Apple.

That means iPhone users won’t have to wait for a certain program to get through the Apple software distribution channel before they can download them to their gadgets. As if unlocking the iPhone is not enough, now developers are opening the iPhone for software. (more…)
