Nike+ workout system soon in your iPhone

Nike has yet to announced it formally, but multiple sources online revealed that the sporting company and Apple are already in the final stages of brining the Nike+ system to the iPhone and iPod touch.

nike-iphone-nike.jpgNike+ is a special kit that will record the distance and length of a walk or run through a little sensor in your shoe. Nike+ was originally made for iPod nano but a Nike insider said the system will be modified to support the iPhone and the iPod Touch.

While no one from Nike and Apple would confirm the reports, bringing the Nike+ to the iPhone would be in the best interest of Nike considering the popularity of the iPhone (that is if Nike wants to remain competitive in the industry).

Nike+ will surely work well with iPhone, especially when the 3G handset will be released, and anyone can easily update his profile online using the mobile phone.          (more…)

bd-touch-apple-iphone.jpgApple’s iPhone is not just a phone. It can also be a remote control for your Blue-ray devices, including Sony Corporation’s Playstation 3, as announced by NetBlender.

NetBlender announced a new Blu-ray Disc technology that allows iPhones and iPod Touch devices to interact with content on a Blu-ray disc. Called “BD Touch”, the technology leverages the network connection built into Blu-ray players and the WiFi connection on the iPhone to create two-way communication between the devices. Video, audio, text, and player commands can be transferred via the connection.

“Having spent the past decade building interactive video products we are thrilled to bring together two of the most interactive consumer products ever created with BD Touch,” said John Harrington, NetBlender CEO. “We began R&D on integrating the two devices right after I experienced the iPhone Multi-Touch interface for the first time.”

BD Touch connects the 10 foot experience of the large screen home theater with the mobile experience offered by the iPhone. The sophisticated UI of the iPhone enables unprecedented user interaction when compared to any other handheld device. BD Touch applications can take advantage of the iPhone’s geo location features, 3D sensors and QWERTY keyboard. BD Touch features will work on any BD Live-enabled Blu-ray Disc player such as the PlayStation 3. (more…)

Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs said the Adobe Systems’ Inc.’s popular Flash media player doesn’t meet his company’s performance standards for video and therefore, will not be used for the iPhone.

Jobs said Adobe’s Flash Media Player that was formatted to personal computers “is too slow on the iPhone”. The iPhone has been praised for its ability to show videos across the full length of the 3.5 inch device, a much larger display than most mobile phones with video capability.

But since the iPhone launched in June of 2007, the way in which it plays video has been criticized for its limited practicality. Users can play Quicktime videos online, but not Flash or Windows Media Video files.

iFob for iPhone… a toothing clone?

iCloseBy.com has launched a new application for iPhones, iPod touches and PCs with the release of iFob, which the company claimes to be “real-space social networking software”. iFob uses the Wi-Fi of iPhones, iPods and PCs and turns these devices into “homing beacons”, broadcasting, or “just listening”, for other iFobbers.

iFob finds other people who are in the exact same location, at the exact same time, as each other. The company says that it’s “designed to become an icebreaker to real conversations”. In any public hotspot, iFob lights up and shows when anyone else with iFob walks in. Then users can chat with each other.        (more…)

Diamond case for iPhone, do you have one?

iphone-diamond-caseIt’s as if an iPhone device is not luxury enough, a mobile phone case maker said it has created an 18-carat gold case for iPhone adorned with 42 diamonds. The entire case cost $20,000 or several times more expensive than the iPhone itself.

Sure, if you have that enought money to spare and you are not scared of phone snatchers lurking in most cities around the world, especially in Asia, grab your diamond-studded iPhone case now at case-mate.com.

The Case-mate Diamond Case is handcrafted with 42 diamonds (3.5 carats) set in 18K gold, embedded in a rare gold carbon fiber leather case. With VVS1 clarity and H color, these diamonds are superior in quality. Complete with an 18K gold emblem, the Case-mate Diamond Case is truly a one of a kind.

But that’s not all. The Diamond Case is crafted of luxurious Carbon Fiber leather, previously available only in high end aftermarket cars (Techart Porsche) and very high end cell phones (Vertu). Case-mate worked closely with its leather craftsmen to develop this rare gold leather for this very special iPhone case.

Common, sell your house and car and buy an iPhone diamond-studded case. As for me, i’ll have to be contented with a China-made plastic case. :)
