Apple has finally inked a deal with a telecom network in China just a few months after its talks with China Mobile, the worl’d largest mobile carrier with more than 300 million subscribers in China, turned the iPhone deal off for a while.

Apple Inc. has partnered with China Unicom for the release of iPhone in China, where hundreds of iPhone clones are already being sold in the market, although the iPhone maker said it is not an exclusive deal.

Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison, however, did not say which other companies in China are in talks with Apple.

Observers believe the deal with China Unicom has already stirred the management of China Mobile, whose Chairman Wang Jianzhou said earlier this month the company remains interested in offering Apple’s iPhone in China.

China Mobile earlier said it turned down the offer of Apple for the Chinese company to be the exclusive carrier of iPhone in China, saying that concerns about business models and commercialization have prevented the two sides from further continuing talks to sell the iPhone in China.
