The latest 3.0.1 firmware version has just been released by apple.  This version has a fix for many bugs that were prevelant when iPhone 3.0 came out. The main fix in this update is a vulnerability in the iPhone SMS text messaging service.

The latest iphone unlock was just released by the iPhone 3GS Unlock  team at http://www.unlock-the-iphone.com and is said to unlock and jailbreak the latest 3.0.1 firmware on both the 3G and 3GS iPhones without any post unlocking issues. A member of our staff was able to confirm that the unlock does indeed work with the latest 3.0.1 version on the members 3GS iPhone.
