Two Chinese companies are reportedly likely to get chip orders for Apple’s iPhone Nano according to the Chinese-language Economic Daily News. The paper reported that the chip orders may come in March with the launch of Apple’s iPhone Nano eyed by June this year.

Apple has not released any official statement regarding the iPhone Nano as of press time.

With the release of the iPhone Nano this June (hopefully), Palm’s Pre, which has caught the attention of smartphone critics, and HTC’s soon to be launched touchscreen competitor will surely find their way to the dustbin.

We are expecting the iPhone Nano to be, what else, smaller and cheaper than the current iPhone 3G. And we are expecting Apple to equip the Nano with powerful chips and more user-friendly interface to give it an edge over its competitors.
