For iPhone owners, it is not a cause for alarm yet. No virus or malware has been identified to have penetrated the iPhone as of this posting. But anti-virus groups are sending out warnings that it could happen real soon - virus in our iPhones.
I remember having a short talk with one of the anti-virus experts in Sophos and he told me that virus masters are now keeping their eyes on our gadgets. With the popularity of the iPhone, the iPod, and other gadgets that we have now, the expert said the desktop has become the least of the targets of these virus creators.
Well, it will not be new for mobile phones. When Nokia released its 3G, Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones, virus and malware suddenly surfaced, erasing our mobile phone’s contacts and notes, and spreading the fever to other phones that have open Bluetooth connection.
Now, it will only be a matter of weeks or days before we can hear of the iPhone being infiltrated by those viruses and malwares. Let’s just hope that the anti-virus experts can immediately come up with some kind of protection to keep our iPhone experience comfortable as ever. :)
