With the way mobile phone companies are burning eyebrows to catch up with the iPhone fever, and with developers racing against each other to get their programs on Apple’s mobile phone wonder, there’s no doubt that the iPhone will be the mobile phone of the future, easily killing competitors and stomping on those who want a share of the touch screen mobile phone industry.

The iPhone fever has spread all over the world even if a major part of the earth still has no iPhones available. In countries where the iPhone is much-talked about yet none is available in mobile phone stores, like in Asia, iPhone clones flood the market – copying the look, feel, design, and color of the iPhone.

Funny names also cropped up – ChinaiPhone, iFon, iPhoneClone – in an attempt to mislead the market from the original. And thousands of Chinese people have bought the fake ones just to get a feel of the real thing. We can’t blame these Asians though because while the iPhone has been discussed all over the net, Apple has not decided on exact dates to ship the mobile phone in the region.

Legitimate mobile phone companies – LG, Samsung, Sony Erickson – have also introduced units that were designed to challenge the iPhone but failed to douse off the fire caused by the iPhone.

Lately, Nokia was reported to be in the process of producing Nokia Tube, its first ever touch screen mobile phone unit, aimed at challenging the iPhone. But even as the Nokia Tube is officially launched, critics have already voted in favor of the expected iPhone 2.0.

No doubt, the iPhone has changed the way people look at mobile phones. And there is no doubt that the iPhone will soon become the mobile phone of this generation. Thanks to Apple.
