Nokia Tube 5800 no match to Apple’s iPhone

The reported production of Nokia’s Tube has created so much interest especially when it was unofficially announced as a handset that will try to challenge the popularity of Apple’s iPhone.
Leaking from Nokia’s metal vault, iPhone-Codes.com learned that the Tube will be commercially named Nokia 5800 Tube (although no one from Nokia would confirm this information) and is initially set to be released later this year.
The Nokia Tube, which will be renamed Nokia 5800 Tube, will sport a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus. It will have a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 16 Million colors. It’s also equipped with a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE radio with 3G UMTS/HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, and GPS.
Here’s what we know of Nokia 5800 Tube’s specifications:
- 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 16 Million colors
- 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus
- Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE radio
- 3G UMTS/HSDPA
- Bluetooth 2.0
- WiFi
- GPS
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- TV-out port
- 140MB on-board storage
- 111 x 52 x 14.5 mm
- 104g
At first glance, however, the Nokia Tube 5800 is no match to iPhone especially when the iPhone is released with the 3G technology. If Nokia really wants to challenge the iPhone with its Nokia Tube 5800, it should release the handset ahead of the scheduled release of the iPhone 3G.
Here’s hoping Nokia would send us a unit for review. ![]()
