Voice Recognition Unit TellMe Explores iPhone SDK

Voice recognition unit TellMe has jumped into the SDK bandwagon and is now exploring opportunities for the iPhone, said general manager Mike McCue in an interview with Fortune.
TellMe, which was purchased by Microsoft a year ago, sees a huge potential in the iPhone, says McCue, adding that if the iPHone SDK will allow software to take advantage of voice recording and location-based information, which TellMe is currently developing for Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system, then the voice recognition unit is ready to get a version for the iPhone.
Tellme, the Mountain View, Calif.-based provider of voice services for everyday life, including nationwide directory assistance, enterprise customer service and voice-enabled mobile search, has officially joined the Microsoft family On May 3rd, 2007.
