If only the iPhone could sing, surely it would do ‘Release Me’ by Engelbert Humperdinck. Yes, with all this unlocking activities going on and with millions of iPhones being unlocked, Apple should now set the iPhone free instead of jailing it at the four walls of AT&T.
More and more people will be going to the undergrounds to have their iPhones unlocked (I don’t know if AT&T’s service is one of the reasons) and it would be unfair for AT&T, the supposed exclusive carrier of the iPhone, because they now no longer has the monopoly of the iPhone.
Apple, should therefore, do the right move by unlocking the iPhone and allowing other mobile networks to carry the iPhone.

Sources said iPhone sales in the US have dramatically decreased since the fourth quarter of last year, although the reason for the decrease is not known yet. Does this mean that the iPhone fever has died down in the US?
In the UK, exclusive iPhone dealer O2 has decided to offer more text and call time for iPhone users in the hope of attracting more buyers noting a long shelf life for iPhones in their stores.
Analysts, however, believe the iPhone sales figure will soar once the phone is launched in Asia and other countries. But Asia is already flooded with China-made iPhone clone. Will Apple’s iPhone manage to clear the way and kill the competition in Asia?

I got an email from Steven Robertson in California asking me if backing up his iPhone using the synchronization will also save the notes he has been keeping on his phone. The answer would be a yes because once you synchronize your iPhone to your pc, settings and other data stored in your iPhone will automatically be backed up to your pc.
Synchronization will save your mail settings, text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, and widget settings to your pc. But if you still are not sure if synchronization will really save your notes, try emailing your notes to yourself so you have a back up just in case.

Wow. How I wish i live in UK right now so I can also avail of the increased monthly allocation of minutes and texts from 200 to 500-600 (for those who signed a £35-a-month contract with O2).
Those on a £45 monthly tariff will have their minutes doubled to 600, while a new £75 tariff will replace the £55 monthly charge and give users 3,000 minutes and 500 texts. This move by O2 immediately illicited positive reactions from iPhone users who can now have more value for their monthly fees.
But wait, why is O2 doing this? Does this move mean that the company failed to achieve its sales target for the iPhone in UK? (more…)

Now that there is a program that allows iPhone users to surf the web through their phone, phishers are working hard to victimize mobile users around the world. But there are easy ways to fight off phishing, here are some tips and information:
Phishing is a type of online fraud where the perpetrators attempt to acquire personal, financial, and/or other account information (such as user IDs, passwords, credit card numbers, PINs, etc.) from unsuspecting victims.
This type of fraud is typically initiated by sending an unsolicited but official-looking email claiming to be from a reputable company, such as a bank, a credit card firm, or an online establishment. The fraudulent email usually contains an urgent message that tries to lure the recipient into providing sensitive information. (more…)

Metasploit version 3.1 has recently been released and believe it or not it comes with a support for breaking into Apple’s iPhone devices. It’s as if Jailbreak is not enough, now Metasploit is making it easy for everyone to hack his iPhone.
But what’s the point of breaking into our iPhone? That questions still remains unanswered for me as more and more hackers now turn their eyes on the iPhone to exploit.
As i’ve said over and over again, I’d rather keep my iPhone as it is. Installing third party applications could be exiting (for those who love to tinker on their gadgets) but we don’t know what other programs are hidden in the applications.
If it ain’t broken, don’t break into it. ![]()
